How to capture a bee swarm?

This post is not about royal jelly. It’s one of those that talk about a more general topic of beekeeping. I feature two videos showing some tactics for efficient bee swarm capturing

The process is really simple. The bees always follow the queen. So all you have to do if you want to move the whole swarm is to find and move the one bee that is the queen. Finding a queen might be a hastle, but usually she is in the biggest part of the swarm. You simply identify this part of the swarm and put the bees from this part into the box. Notice that they wear no protection suits. That’s because bees are usually really calm when swarming.

This guys have pissed of the bees. But the tactic is similar to the guys’ above. Cutting the branch, putting the biggest part of the swarm in a box and that’s it.
